ANTIGUANEWSROOM- A magistrate has ordered the release of four men, including two Caribbean nationals, accused of being in possession of nearly two million EC dollars in illegal drugs.
Dominican, Gerald Darroux, St. Vincent and the Grenadines national, Glenroy Pierre as well as Godfrey King and Sydney Lovell had been charged with possession of cannabis, intent to transfer, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and drug trafficking after the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) on January 24 this year seized EC$1.8 million worth of marijuana during an exercise.

The ONDCP said investigators had intercepted two people in a vehicle carrying the 469 pounds of marijuana.

But when the matter came up before Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Anthony Armstrong, said there were conflicting information in the evidence from two of the police officers and therefore was asking for the matter to be withdrawn.
