    Multiple Charges Laid Against 3 Men In The Peruvian Vale Incident

    Acting on information and investigations, Jemark Jackson, a 27 year old labourer of Campden Park, Quincy Boyde, 26 years old labourer of Rillan Hill and Romando Andrews, 29 years old labourer of Clare Valley/Diamond received multiple charges stemming from an incident that occurred between 08.08.2020 and 09.08.2020 in Peruvian Vale. Jackson, Boyde and Andrews were arrested and charged with the offences of Damage to Property, Attempted Burglary, Burglary and Handling Stolen Goods on 10.08.2020.

    According to investigations, the accused men allegedly without lawful excuse damaged two (2) deadbolt padlocks and one (1) commercial aluminum door by striking same with an unknown object, the property of Harmony Investment Limited.

    Further investigations led to the suspects being charged with the offences of Attempted Burglary and Burglary. Investigations revealed that the accused men allegedly intended to commit the offence of burglary on Triple S Supermarket and allegedly entered the 2-Go Restaurant as a trespasser and stole a quantity of items, value seven thousand and seventy dollars ($7070.00). The property of a resident of Arnos Vale; stolen at Peruvian Vale, between 08.08.2020 and 09.08.2020.

    In addition, Jackson was also charged for having in his possession one (1) hoe reasonably suspected of being stolen or unlawfully obtained, at Peruvian Vale on 09.08.2020.

    The accused men appeared before the Serious Offences Court to answer to the charges and plead not guilty. Bail was denied and the matters were adjourned to 17/08/2020 for bail review.

    Acting in response to the report of burglary which occurred between 8/08/2020 and 9/08/2020, a 21 year old male suspect, Mr. Keithan James of Campden Park opened fire at the Police. In defense, the Police returned fire and as a result, James suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) where he was pronounced dead.

    A coroner’s inquest will be conducted to ascertain the circumstances under which the deceased died.
