    July 11, 1980 – October 19, 2020

The Board of Directors, Committee members, Management and staff of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear brother Trelson Mapp. Trelson was a proud member of the Credit Union and served on the Education Committee from 2015 – 2017 and as a Director from 2017 serving in the capacity of Treasurer and then as Assistant Secretary Treasurer to the time of his passing. Bro. Trelson became a member of the TCCU after its amalgamation with the Barrouallie Co-operative Credit Union in 2014, were he served as the Vice-President of their Board of Directors.

As a Director, Bro. Trelson offered guidance to the Board, Management and Staff and challenged you to always think outside of the box. He often went above and beyond the call of duty and was always willing to serve. He truly embodied the philosophies of the Credit Union because he was everything to everyone and was always willing to give not just of his time but, his resources. Although, faced with illness, Bro. Trelson was never discouraged and continued to be very active within the organization until his passing, attending meetings via the zoom plate form.

Bro. Trelson, affectionately known as “Trelly”, was a quiet, ambitious and humble person, who radiated courage and positivity even in the face of adversity. He was a devout Christian, who served as a youth leader in the Barrouallie SDA Church.

He was also an avid sports lover, being the founder of the TCCU sponsored Star Girls Netball Teams (Junior and Senior) and was on the management staff of the Barrouallie National Football Team.

He was a gifted musician and writer, whose poetry and short stories resonated with Vincentians at home and abroad.

In his professional life Bro. Trelson, was employed with the Government of St. Vincent and the grenadines serving in the capacity of Economist II, within the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Sustainable Development and Information Technology, where he was described as having a very open and sincere heart for humanity, and was always willing to put persons at ease with a joke or smile.

Though his life was short, it was meaningful and impactful, and we are particularly grateful for his dedication and contribution towards the development to the Credit Union movement in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. May we all be inspired by his life story and through our actions, keep his memory alive.

The Board of Directors, All Committees, Management and Staff express condolences to the family of our beloved brother and friend, the late Trelson Mapp.

May his Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!
