On the 1st of October 2021, Equal Rights, Access and Opportunities SVG Inc. (abbreviated “ERAO SVG”) officially launched in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
ERAO SVG is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equality and non-discrimination in SVG. It focuses on educating persons about issues affecting the equality of individuals in SVG through partnering with local, regional, and international persons and/or organizations in order to help to advance social justice in SVG.
ERAO SVG unequivocally believes that all persons are equal and should be treated with dignity and respect. Moreover, ERAO SVG is against all forms of unjust discrimination. It believes that no one is entitled to discriminate against others, nor should anyone be directly or indirectly discriminated against based on their skin color, race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, religion, class, caste, occupation, language, education, political opinion, health status, marital status, parental status, age, disability and/or other status.
It specifically focuses on vulnerable groups of people in SVG, such as women, children, the LGBTQIA+ community, and persons with disabilities.
