    Four more covid-19 death

    Twenty-eight (28) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from two hundred and fifty-two (252) samples collected on Thursday October 21st, 2021, resulting in a positivity of 11.1%.

    Four(4) rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on October 21st, 2021.
    HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS
    There are currently seven (7) patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility.

    All are unvaccinated. Twenty-seven (27) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 wards at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Twenty-four (24) patients are unvaccinated, one (1) patient is fully vaccinated and two (2) are partially vaccinated.


    COVID-19 DEATHS
    Four (4) new deaths were recorded. A 61-year-old male tested positive for COVID-19 on October 10th, 2021, and died at home on October 21st, 2021. An 86-year-old male died on October 21st, 2021, after testing positive for COVID-19 and admission to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on October 16th, 2021. A 60-year-old female died on October 21st, 2021, after testing positive for COVID-19 and admission to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on October 11th, 2021. A 77-year-old male died on October 21st, 2021, after testing positive for COVID-19 and admission to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial
    Hospital on October 18th, 2021.

    All cases wereunvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to sixty (60). COVID-19 SUMMARY
    Thirty-four (34) new recoveries werenoted over the reportingperiod. One thousand seven hundred and forty-six (1746) cases are currently active and sixty (60) persons with COVID-19 have died.


    Four thousand and eight hundred and fourteen (4814) cases of COVID-19 and three thousand and eight (3008) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 2020.

    In view of the confirmed presence of the Delta, Mu and Gamma variants in the community and the significant increase in the number of new infections, transmission, severe COVID-19 disease and deaths, strict enforcement and compliance with all protocols and recommendations by
    everyone is stronglyrecommended.

    The correct and consistent use of masks, avoidanceof crowds, physical distancing, proper hand sanitizingand immunization withavailable vaccines have all been
    proven to significantly reduce the risk of being infected, getting sick and or dying from the Virus
