The Chicago Fire will fly three candidates to Chicago for in-person interviews as they continue their search for the club’s next head coach.

LAFC assistant coach Ante Razov, Sporting Kansas City II head coach Paulo Nagamura and Columbus Crew assistant coach Ezra Hendrickson will all travel to Chicago in the near future for second interviews with the team, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the search. One source cautioned that this does not necessarily mean these are the Fire’s three finalists for the job; the team could bring in more candidates for in-person interviews.

The trio of candidates show a clear focus on finding a coach from within domestic coaching circles, and all three have significant MLS experience both as players and coaches. Two of the three also have head coaching experience in USL.
