The president of the Police Welfare Association Brenton Smith was asked to leave his work compound in Georgetown today, as the government’s vaccine mandate is in effect, ANN understands.

ANN understands that the president was asked to leave the compound by Inspector Providence.

ANN contacted the president about the development and he said that he doesn’t know how to take it.

Up to press time, the police welfare president was on his way to Kingstown to meet some of his colleagues who were also asked to leave the compound.

The government’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate came into effect on November 19, 2021.

Certain categories of State workers deemed as frontline workers and who remain unvaccinated will not be allowed to enter their places of work.
