    Champions Of Toastmasters Club Speech Contest

    The Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club in St. Vincent and the Grenadines hosted a speech contest via Zoom, on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022.

    The contest held under the theme “The Stage Is Set For Champions To Speak At Their Best,” was chaired by Shaquille Lewis.

    The first-place winners were Leanna Sutherland of the evaluation speech contest, Jackleen Wyllie of the international speech contest ,and Kevie Frederick of the table topics speech contest.

    In the evaluation speech contest, contenders evaluated a speech by the test speaker, Perla Rombley of Creative Intellect Toastmasters Club in St. Martin. These contestants were Adinga Findlay and Moureeze Franklyn, along with Leanna Sutherland who took the winning trophy.

    International speech contestant, Jenieve Cato expressively engaged the audience with flowers, during her speech entitled ‘Bloom’. However, Jackleen Wyllie stepped up to the judges, with her winning speech ‘Stepping Out’.

    For the table topics contest, the chair Shaquille Lewis presented the contestants, with the impromptu topic ‘If I could change the world I would.’ In the contest world, the winner Kevie Frederick, braved his opponents Adinga Findlay and Leanna Sutherland.

    The president of the club, Jacqui English-Jacobs believed that this was the club’s first-ever speech contest. She conveyed gratitude to the contestants, guests, judges, and functionaries from the Achievers and Creative Thinkers Toastmasters Clubs.

    The chief judge Carshena Gordon, Division I Director, presented the closing remarks.

    The Area Director Cecilia Christmas, congratulated the club and the winners, who would also participate in the Area Speech Contest on Sunday, 6th February.

    The Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club meets every first and third Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., via Zoom. The general public is invited to attend the sessions, which are geared towards fostering and enhancing communication and leadership skills, for the betterment of the individual.
