Police have opened an investigation into the discovery of Marijuana found in several boxes of cargo last Sunday afternoon to be shipped to Barbados.
According to reports reaching Asberth News Network, the boxes were registered in a produce trafficker’s name from Central Leeward.

Sources close to the investigation has told ANN that the produce trafficker is claiming that the packages were received from someone who wanted them to reach Barbados.

Four boxes were searched by the Quarantine department on Sunday afternoon where the drugs were discovered amongst ginger and other items to be shipped.

ANN understands that over 12 boxes were subsequently discovered with Marijuana.

We were not able to ascertain if any one was held in police custody in relation to the matter.

We would continue to update on this story as more information comes to hand.
