A video circulated on social media on Tuesday which appears to show a cutlass attack on an individual in an omnibus, as it stopped to pick up passengers.
The Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Sehon Marshall during a call to WEFM this morning following the circulation of this video, called on the public to cease the protection of criminals and share information that could put a stop to acts like these with the police.
“We know, yes, we will continue to demand more of the police realistically because they have a job to protect and to serve, but we also as citizens—stop hiding these criminals, stop protecting criminals, if you know who they are, report them because the cycle will not end,” Mr. Marshall said.
The Prime Minister’s Press Secretary continued to appeal to the public and in particular, the person who filmed the incident to cooperate with police so that criminals can be brought to justice.
“I saw the video and I’m saying right here and right now, anybody with information, including the person who recorded the video, including that person because I find it quite—I don’t want to use the word suspicious, but it is quite interesting that you just happened to be there to just capture that and instead of using your voice to warn—could be that you were fearful, that could be your reason—you recorded the video, if you have any information regarding this please share the information because we all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s Press Secretary also expressed shock at the brazen actions of the attackers in the video, perpetrating such an act in broad daylight.
