A new I Love SVG display located a few minutes away from the Argyle International Airport (AIA) has received resounding appreciation from Vincentians at home an abroad,
The sign located at Jo’s Bar and Grill at Mount Pleasant, Argyle was erected on Monday 10th April by the proprietor of the business Joseina Fraser.
Fraser in an interview with ANN said that she has always seen signs in other countries she visited and thought it was a great marketing strategy for her business.
“With my visits to Grenada last month I saw a simple one in their cruise ship terminal made from just board and I thought that’ll be nice and cheaper to do by my bar ( it was actually not as cheap as I thought it would have been) and seeing that we don’t have one for the country either, I decided to do it, which will also help me market my bar.,” she added.
The 28 year old is no newcomer to the entrepreneurial world having previously run a swimsuit business in 2019, however that business was not her passion, and after working in several bars, when the opportunity arose for her to open her own business she grasped it.
Since the sign has been mounted, social media has been flooded with persons traveling from all over the country to visit the establishment and take photos.
Fraser said that she has been receiving positive feedback about the sign, with many saying that it is a great idea.
Additionally, she noted that she has seen a lot of new faces at her business since the sign went up.
“Everyone loves it, they think it’s a great idea. A lot of new faces have also been at the bar since it’s up . Few people are saying that it should have been in st.Vincent colors but i did it how my designer said and with the background being green with bushes colors would have been too distracting.”
Fraser was assisted by Steven Veira, Expression Designs – Brandon Ledger, her uncle Kenron Fraser , Burkley Brown and some of the regular patrons at the bar.
Minister of Tourism Carlos James, in an interview with ANN, applauded the initiative by Fraser and said he wished more people would take the initiative to do more things like this.
“The signage is a fantastic initiative and I wish more people would do that, it’s a fantastic initiative.”
James further added that at the current site of the port, there is no real feasible space to place signage like that.
However, the Tourism Minister said that after the completion of the new modern port at Rose Place, there will be more space for a transformation and a properly functioning cruise terminal.
