Participants in the Youth Empowerment Service (YES) programme stand to benefit in numerous ways.

This is according to Youth Officer within the Ministry of National Mobilization, Gweneth Anthony, who also encouraged those already on the programme to acquire more educational certification in an effort to upgrade their portfolio and education.

“They are going to get working experience, they would be on the programme for one year and being there they will be able to interact, gain meaningful skills and to learn things that they would have never learnt before. Additionally we are asking them while they are on the programme, if they are not at the level they are supposed to be at, to get back into evening classes or to acquire skills that are going to help them in their life as they move on as young people,” Ms. Anthony said.

Registration drives for the YES programme are being held in various constituencies in SVG, with over 400 individuals registered so far, with a high turnout of male applicants, eager to join the programme.
