Work on Marriott Hotel to commence by June or July

Work on the Marriot Hotel at Mt. Wynne is expected to commence in June or July of 2023.
This was disclosed by Minister of National Mobilization, Social Development, Family, Gender Affairs, Youth, Housing and Informal Human Settlement and Parliamentary Representative for Central Leeward, Dr. Orando Brewster, on the Issue At Hand program on Sunday.

“Mt. Wynne Marriott, we’re supposed to start some preliminary work I think in June or July of this year. We had to relook the plan for the hotel itself and we are still in that stage because of the increase in cost in materials and so on, it has ballooned the figure so much that now we have to probably look at a slight variation in some of the designs so that we can have the Mt. Wynne Marriott completed in the very near future,” he said.

In September of 2019, the SVG government signed an agreement with Marriott International to manage the state-owned 250-room hotel to be constructed at Mt Wynne, on the western coast of the island.
