The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is urging the Vincentian public not to take matters into their own hands, but to instead to come to the police with their issues.

This appeal was made by Sergeant Morris of the RSVGPF on WE FM’s Cop Chat program on Thursday, where he complain of the prevalence of persons taking matters that should be taken to the police into their own hands.

“There are many persons taking too many into their own hands when they are confronted with issues. I would like to urge persons, whenever you have a problem and you need some assistance in dealing with it, police are there to render whatever assistance you may need. Taking matters into your own hands will get you in more trouble. Most of the time the persons who are the victim—and sometimes it’s sad to know that the victims sometimes turn out to be the defendants,” he said.

Sergeant Morris, in addressing the Vincentian public said that they should feel free to come to their nearest police station with any issue that they are facing, saying that the officers will be more than willing to assist.
