April, 3rd, 2024: Kingstown – On 01.04.24 Police arrested and charged
Harris Grant, a 35-year old Labourer of Edinboro with Unlawful Possession of one (1) 9mm Luger Pistol without a licence issued under the Firearms Act. He was also charged for having in his possession six (6) rounds of 9mn ammunition without being licensed to do so.
Grant was arrested about 5:15 a.m. on Sunday 31 March 2024 during an operation conducted by the police in Edinboro.
The defendant appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Tuesday 02 April 2024 and pleaded not guilty both charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00ECC, with one surety. He was further ordered to report at the Central Police Station every Wednesday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and Notices were placed at all Ports of Entry and Exit
The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for trial on July 7th, 2024.
