    Lawyer asked for Jarvis case to be listed in current Assizes

    Lawyer Kay Bacchus-Baptiste, representing murder accused journalist and public relations consultant Junior Jarvis, has written to the High Court Registrar requesting that the matter be listed for hearing at the current sitting of the Criminal Assizes.
    Jarvis is charged with the February 14, 2017 shooting death of 39-year-old Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines employee Randy Lawrence. He is also facing charges of attempted murder, abduction, assault, causing actual bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and using a firearm to aid in the commission of an offence.
    All the offences were reportedly committed at Arnos Vale on February 14, 2017, and Jarvis was committed to stand trial on October 2017.
    Bacchus-Baptiste’s letter, dated May 8, 2019, and copied to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), stated, inter alia, “I am hereby requesting that this matter be listed in the current Criminal Assizes for hearing soonest.
    “Your usual kind cooperation is greatly appreciated.”
    Bacchus-Baptiste said, “The defence is ready, and he (Jarvis) has a good case to defend.”
