    Only State Media Allowed at Offord Morris’s Official Funeral

    The official funeral for the late Offord Morris is set for Friday, July 26, 2024, with a strict media policy in place. The family has specifically requested that only state media be allowed inside the viewing and the funeral service, prohibiting any other media personnel or photography.

    The body of Mr. Morris will lie in the House of Assembly Chamber in Glen from 9 am to 11 am. The schedule for the viewing is as follows:

    • From 9:00 am to 9:15 am, Her Excellency, the Governor General, will pay her respects.
    • From 9:15 am to 10:00 am, the Honourable Prime Minister, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Leader of the Opposition, Members of Parliament, the Judiciary, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, and visiting dignitaries will have their turn.
    • From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, the general public is invited to view the body.

    Following the viewing, the funeral service will be held at 2 pm at the Biabou Anglican Church. This solemn event is expected to draw significant attendance from both local and international dignitaries.

    In keeping with the family’s wishes, the presence of media will be limited strictly to state media, ensuring a respectful and private farewell for the esteemed Mr. Morris.
