St. Vincent Brewery Limited (SVBL) took center stage in celebrating World Food Day 2024 by engaging with students at Kingstown Preparatory School (KPS) and New Grounds Primary School. The event embraced the global theme, “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,” with a focus on sustainable practices and community health in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

At KPS, the students were inspired by talks from key figures like Dr. Monica Davis (Ministry of Agriculture), Dr. Colleen Phillips (FAO), and Senior Education Officer Elspeth Adams (Ministry of Education), all emphasizing sustainability in agriculture and education. SVBL’s PR and Media Analyst, Kimon Baptiste, highlighted the brewery’s alignment with the event’s theme, sharing insights on SVBL’s sustainable brewing practices that reduce environmental impact while supporting food security.

New Grounds Primary School saw a dynamic session led by Joshua Laborde, SVBL’s Safety and Environmental Coordinator, who spoke on the brewery’s eco-conscious practices, such as water conservation and recycling efforts. Students were also encouraged to think critically about ways to enhance sustainability further.

Through these activities, SVBL demonstrated its commitment to sustainability while inspiring the youth to become active participants in ensuring food security and environmental stewardship for a better future.
