
Sparta FC kicked off their 2025 SVG Football Federation First Division campaign in emphatic fashion, thrashing Pride and Joy FC 7-1 at Chilli Playing Field in Georgetown.
Facing a well-known opponent, Sparta FC wasted no time asserting their dominance. National Under-20 winger Devonte McDowall opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a well-placed right-footed strike. However, Pride and Joy quickly responded, equalizing just five minutes later.
Sparta FC then took control. Ari Charles restored the lead in the 35th minute, displaying clinical composure to round the goalkeeper before slotting home. Just before halftime, Skye Horne extended the advantage with a powerful shot from outside the box that took a crucial deflection.

A passionate halftime talk from captain Meshach Dublin fired up the squad, and they responded with a relentless second-half performance. Ari Charles netted his second goal soon after the restart before Cameron Strough added Sparta’s fifth goal, putting the game beyond reach.
Charles wasn’t done yet—he completed his hat trick after a brilliant assist from McDowall. The final goal came from Zimroy Charles, who sealed the commanding victory with a stunning solo effort.
