Park Hill, St. Vincent – April 28, 2025 — A 45-year-old farmer of Park Hill, Everoy Cameron John, has been arrested and charged with the offence of Handling Stolen Goods.

According to police reports, investigations revealed that on January 21, 2025, John dishonestly received a quantity of ginger—belonging to a 43-year-old farmer of the same address—knowing or believing it to have been stolen.

John appeared before the Colonaire Magistrate Court on April 28, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. He was fined $250.00 Eastern Caribbean Currency (ECC), payable by May 12, 2025. In default of payment, he will serve one month at His Majesty’s Prison.

In addition to the fine, John was placed on a nine-month bond in the sum of $900.00 ECC. Should he breach the bond, he will face a three-month prison sentence. A restitution order was also issued, mandating the return of the stolen ginger to the rightful owner.
