Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, along with fellow leaders from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), is meeting today with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
The talks will focus on key regional concerns, including tariffs, immigration policies, and other matters of collective economic and political importance.
OECS leaders have raised concerns over recent U.S. tariff proposals, which are expected to cause supply chain disruptions and lead to increased costs for Caribbean consumers.
Following today’s meeting, Prime Minister Gonsalves will travel to London for a separate engagement on a major investment opportunity, which he described as one that will “impact the country for the next five years.”
