As they reflect on the month of May, Invest SVG extends sincere gratitude to all partners and attendees for contributing to the resounding success of its Diaspora Outreach and Investment Programme, held earlier this month.
The initiative, a four-city tour under the banner “Home Is Where The Heart Is,” concluded on May 17th in New York City, following a series of dynamic investment conferences in London, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
Designed to educate and inspire members of the Vincentian diaspora to invest in their homeland, the tour attracted widespread interest, drawing over 450 attendees.
> “Most folks left with an appetite to get on board and invest in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” shared Kenley “Shortmus” John, a Vincentian entrepreneur who attended the Washington D.C. event. “The information shared was very educational… very impressive.”
With robust presentations from key agencies such as the Bank of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (the programme’s major sponsor), National Properties Ltd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU), Invest SVG ensured that attendees were inspired by the vision of nation-building that transcends borders.
Support for the initiative extended far and wide in each host location. Vincentians traveled from various states including Arizona, Maryland, and Virginia to reconnect with their roots and explore investment opportunities in SVG.
Attendees were also treated to impactful presentations from government officials including Hon. Camillo Gonsalves, Hon. Orando Brewster, and Hon. Keisal Peters, each offering unique perspectives on investment from their respective ministries.
Invest SVG prides itself on measurable and actionable results. The tour generated a pipeline of solid investment leads, with approximately 10 leads currently in discussion to establish businesses in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. These opportunities span sectors such as tourism, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
The trip also facilitated separate meetings with foreign investors and consultants, many of whom are eyeing Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as a destination for renewable energy, construction, and economic diversification.
As the organization looks to the future, Invest SVG remains committed to engaging the diaspora, reinforcing the powerful message that investment in SVG starts with its own people.
