Several minivan operators in Redemption Sharpes withdrew their services today in protest over what they describe as long-neglected and worsening road conditions in the area.
Images shared by concerned residents show crumbling asphalt, potholes, and obstructions such as construction materials and burnt debris along the roadside. Operators say these issues are not only damaging their vehicles but also posing serious risks to passengers and pedestrians.
“We have been patient long enough,” said one driver. “Until we see some meaningful progress or commitment from the authorities, we are not moving.”
The withdrawal of services is expected to continue indefinitely, affecting hundreds of commuters in the community. Residents and drivers alike are calling for urgent intervention from relevant government agencies to carry out repairs and improve safety in the area.
