KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, June 4, 2026 — The Department of Tourism is taking its popular Kids’ Tourism Summer Camp beyond Kingstown in 2026, bringing the educational programme directly into communities across mainland St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time.
The expansion follows what officials described as a highly successful 2025 edition, which saw participation exceed expectations and highlighted growing interest among young Vincentians in learning about tourism and its role in national development.
Organised by the Department of Tourism within the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development, the camp is designed for children between the ages of 8 and 14. Participants will take part in a range of activities including field trips, hikes, arts and crafts, tourism talks and interactive learning experiences aimed at building a greater appreciation for the country’s tourism sector, culture, heritage and natural environment.
This year’s programme will be hosted across four zones:
- Kingstown: July 27–28
- Windward: July 30–31
- Leeward: July 30–31
- Bequia: August 6–7
Sessions will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Director of Tourism Faylene King said the decision to decentralise the programme is intended to remove geographic barriers and make tourism education more accessible to children throughout the country. She noted that the initiative will help nurture a new generation of tourism ambassadors while encouraging national pride, environmental stewardship and community engagement.
The Kids’ Tourism Summer Camp forms part of the Department’s wider efforts to increase tourism awareness among young people and inspire greater involvement in the sustainable development of the sector.
Parents and guardians are being encouraged to register early, as spaces are limited. Registration is available online through the Ministry’s social media platforms.
