    WISG 2019: SVG SET AND READY TO GO

    A seventy-member delegation will leave the country this Saturday to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the 2019 CBN-WINLOTT Windward Island School Games (WISG), scheduled to take place in Dominica, July 28 – August 4.

    The delegation, which comprises sixty-two (62) athletes and eight (8) officials, will participate in five (5) sporting disciplines, namely:

    · Athletics (Male & Female)

    · Basketball (Male & Female)

    · Volleyball (Male & Female)

    · Football (Male only)

    · Netball (Female only)

    The delegation dubbed TEAM SVG will be headed by Mrs. Vernette Ollivierre who will serve as manager. The other officials are:

    Kelvin Yorke Technical Director

    Vance Andrews Coach – Volleyball

    Chester Morgan Coach – Football

    Chantel Legair Coach- Athletics

    Janette Lynch- Christopher Coach- Netball

    Andrae Jackson Chaperone

    Team SVG finished second to Grenada last year, with the best showing in male volleyball, where the team captured the top spot. Team SVG also finished second in athletics, football and male basketball.

    The team’s participation in the 2019 Games is being facilitated by the National Lotteries Authority, the National Schools Games Committee and the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, through the Ministry of Education.

    Team SVG is scheduled to return to the state on August 5th.
