A karaoke event became the scene of this country’s 2nd homicide, as this new decade grows older. Reports are that 54 years old Henry ‘Busta’ Parsons of Long Piece, North Union succumbed to chop wounds allegedly inflicted by fellow villager Frankie Joseph said to be in his 40’s.

Reports are that 54 years old Henry ‘Busta’ Parsons of Long Piece, North Union succumbed to chop wounds allegedly inflicted by fellow villager Frankie Joseph said to be in his 40’s.

Both men were patronizing a local groceries and rum shop, which was hosting the event last Friday evening. According to a source close to the alleged assailant’s family, who was also at the event for some time before the killing occurred, the men were bickering for much of the evening.

. As she prepared to head to another karaoke bar in the area, the source told ANN, Parsons approached her and complained about Frankie while showing her a hammer with which he intended to defend himself – if need be.
    .

She said, “I told him to come with me leh we go up by Embert an’nuh study Frankie but he say something like he nuh have no money to buy drinks up deh. I told him that’s alright I would pay and he said go ahead he’ll come and meet me.”

Taking him at his word, she left, went home and had a quick bite to eat before going to the other bar. Understand, this is in Long Piece, North Union a geographically close knitted community. Sometime between 11:30 and midnight, she asserts, “I was going home from Embert when I saw him coming up the hill… all that time Busta done get chop and by the time I get home and hear the news it done all 12:05 am.”

Video recordings have since surfaced and although it is too dark to see the person speaking, The suspect – as identified by the source – can clearly be heard confessing. “Dem go gee me such and such years. Nah me gwine ah jail foo chu! Nah me gwine ah jail. Way de muddacxxt. Nah me gwine down deh foo chu cyar me chap ‘e man foo choo anuh.

“Dem go gee me such and such years. Nah me gwine ah jail foo chu! Nah me gwine ah jail. Way de muddacxxt. Nah me gwine down deh foo chu cyar me chap ‘e man foo choo anuh.

Boy me chap ‘e man real hard foo choo. No, me deal wid de man real brutal foo choo anuh! Me deal wid Busta brutal foo choo. Man me nar tell no lie…” that video ends after 59 seconds.

It appears some measure of homophobia precipitated the chopping incident. “When mammy bin ah get karaoke deh so, you hear? When mammy bin ah get karaoke, he deh pon de seat he say he feel fo bxll, me say ‘you feel like bxll? O.K go down and the key deh such and such place. De man go and find the key and laid down pon my bed! That’s the reason why me chop up fxxking Busta boy!

Busta war bxll me! Busta war bxll me, me chap um up! Yes please I got a lighter.

Boy me chap up fxxking Busta down ah Charlo if yo see blood down deh. Ah go show Charlo what is [unintelligible],” He could be heard in the second recording.

The source claims that Joseph told her he was forced to chop Parsons since the latter refused to stop touching him even after being warned.

It would appear that both men were in the habit of drinking together which was often times marred by various disagreements between themselves. The source confirmed, “them always fall out and mek back but like this rounds worse because Busta walk with hammer in his waist.”

The source confirmed, “them always fall out and mek back but like this rounds worse because Busta walk with hammer in his waist.”

This hammer apparently never got threateningly close to Joseph who according to other reports was standing a ways off from where Busta was “beating the hammer on the ground and saying what he will do [to] Frankie.” At some point during Busta’s drunken tirade “Frankie walked up and chop him.”

From eyewitness reports Henry ‘Busta’ Parsons bled out from his wounded leg. Persons at the scene attempted some rudimentary first aid and tried to bind the wound but to no lifesaving avail. Witnesses also say that it took an inordinate amount of time for emergency services of any kind to respond to the distress calls that went out.

Almost an hour later, we were told, the police arrived on the scene claiming limited access to transportation as the reason for their delay. By that time Busta had already succumbed to the wound.

Frankie Joseph, father of 3 boys, was arrested while he sat waiting for the police at his gate. He is currently assisting with on-going investigations.
