A ceremony for the rededication of the St Vincent Electricity Services’ (Vinlec) upgraded power plant at South Rivers is scheduled for the afternoon of this Friday 19th October.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said Tuesday afternoon that his government and the state-owned power company spent $20 million improving the two hydro units at the plant.
The South Rivers power plant was damaged during the 2013 flood caused by the passage of a weather system on Christmas Eve.
The Cumberland hydro plant was also extensively damaged during the flood.
