    Sister of prominent business owner drowns in Jamaica as boat capsizes…

    KINGSTON, JAMAICA- Two females are confirmed dead after a boat with 11 people aboard capsized between Port Royal and Lime Cay on Thursday morning, around midday.

    Reports reaching ANN indicate that the boat was on its way to Lime Cay from Port Royal, sometime in the morning, when it overturned.

    ANN has also confirmed that one of the females who are among the deceased, is the sister of the the owners of Spectacle Shoppe/Multigraphics – under the new name of One St Vincent Group inc. Her name is confirmed to be Janelle Sutherland. Sutherland is said to have gotten married in September and moved to Jamaica to live.

    Other reports reaching ANN indicates that after the boat capsized, the persons were in the water for more than 2 hours, waiting to be rescued.

    Coast Guard officers stated that they received a distress call and, with the assistance of members of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, were able to rescue a number of the persons.

    They were able to respond and pull a number of persons who had fallen overboard to safety. Two females were taken to the hospital in an unconscious state and was later pronounced dead.
