The Government is seeking to establish a SVG-based High Seas Fishing Fleet.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Saboto Caesar made this statement earlier this week during a ceremony which was held for the Government to sign an agreement with Rainforest Seafoods.

Under the agreement Rainforest Seafoods will be constructing plant at Calliaqua and they are expected to commence operations from St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the next 12 to 18 months.

Minister Caesar says plans to have this SVG-based High Seas Fishing Fleet comes as part of the Fleet expansion program.

He says they are also seeking to have investors establish five fish farms in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
