The Government says it is continuing to provide the necessary resources to ensure the effective functioning of the health sector.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves made this statement as he delivered the feature address at the official opening of the Buccament Polyclinic yesterday afternoon.

The Buccamen Polyclinic was constructed by Franco Construction Limited at a cost of about 6 million EC dollars, under the Modernization of the Health Sector in St. Vincent and the Grenadines Project.

The Prime Minister said over 600 persons are employed at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, to ensure that health care is available to the entire population.

Meanwhile Health Planner David Latchman said the facility is the most extensive investment in the area of health here.

He is optimistic that the new Polyclinic will serve residents of Buccament and other communities well.
