Kingstown, St. Vincent, Aug 22, 2019- Minister of Agriculture, Forestry,
Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry and Labour Saboto
Caesar, is among a range of speakers expected to address the
fourth staging of the CanEx Jamaica Business Conference and
    Expo, slated for next month.
The event is to be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from
September 26-28. It brings together professionals from across the
world to share knowledge and discuss advances in the cannabis industry.
According to the founder of CanEx Jamaica, Douglas K Gordon: “There are numerous opportunities for growth and investment in the cannabis industry and this conference provides business leaders, investors,
cultivators, scientists, manufacturers, and other potential stakeholders
with a platform to explore the global marketplace.”

Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox is also among the list of
influencers who are scheduled to speak at the event. This year’s CanEx
Jamaica Business conference features more than 100 speakers and
panelists, discussing a range of topics including health, wellness, legal,
regulatory, and investment opportunities in the cannabis industry.

The global legal cannabis market continues to expand and the Caribbean is just beginning to gain serious momentum.

Here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Minister Caesar is charged with leading the thrust to do so. So far, Cabinet has given approval for the issuing of licences to more than thirty individuals and entities including local farmers’ producers- (with a total membership of one hundred traditional cultivators); traditional cannabis cultivators (who have applied individually); non- traditional farmers and companies.
