Persons residing on the Leeward side of mainland St. Vincent can now readily access affordable, professional and specialized medical care/treatment.
After just two years of operations from its Arnos Vale location, the Integrated Medical Care (IMC) clinic has opened another much larger facility at Pembroke.
The formal opening took place on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
The new clinic, under the name Integrated Medical Urgent Care (IMUC), will offer specialized services in Cardiology (heart), Oncology (cancer), Nephrology (kidney), Radiology (X-ray), Hematology (blood) and Dentistry (teeth), among other medical needs.
Dr. Masada James, who along with Dr. Canesha Browne are the ‘brains’ behind these undertakings, said that being able to diagnose a medical problem quickly allows for early intervention.  The earlier the correct treatment begins, the quicker the recovery will be.
It is towards this end that the new clinic is focused and along with its professional consultations in specialized areas, the clinic offers ultrasound, laboratory and X-ray services, among other services to aid in timely diagnosis.
The clinic also offers a full pharmacy service and the principals said that an  ambulance service will be available in the coming months.
    Opening
The official opening ceremony heard addresses from Ms. Joy Matthews, who gave an overview of the company, and a keynote address by Dr. Dale Dangleben MD, a close friend of both Drs. Browne and James.
Pastor Noel Clarke blessed the facility and Dr. Browne and daughter Ebony cut the ribbon to declare the facility open to business.
The MC for the occasion was Angela “Ideisha” Jackson.
During the formal opening, several staff members were awarded for their  dedicated service.
Patrons who have benefitted from the service at IMC were presented with tokens of appreciation and were also given the opportunity to briefly relate their experiences with IMC.
Invited guests were given a tour of the new facility.
The IMUC clinic officially opened its doors for business from Monday, August 19, 2019.
