    Vincentian Kenrick Burke Appointed First Director of Energy in Monsterrat

    The Government of Montserrat has appointed its first Director of Energy, in the Ministry of Communications, Works, Energy and Labour.

    Mr. Kenrick Burke was appointed to the post on September 1, 2019.  Mr. Burke who hails from St. Vincent and the Grenadines brings to the post with experience in the field of Energy Management and Mechanical Engineering.

     The Ministry said Mr. Burke comes at a critical time, as the Ministry continues to explore several key initiatives geared at energy exploration and conservation on island.  The Director of Energy will be expected to coordinate the activities related to energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy for the Government of Montserrat; explore options with respect to investments in alternative forms of energy; delivery the energy policy, strategy and action plan; and develop the Energy Unit and its work programme, among other responsibilities.

     Mr. Burke is stationed at the Ministry of Communications, Works, Energy and Labour headquarters in Brades.
