Iris Samuel recalled the moment she discovered the body of her 56-year-old husband George ‘Coban’ Samuel buried in a shallow grave on Tuesday night at Evesham.

The two did not live together, but still maintained a relationship where they would spend time back and forth between the two homes that they shared.

Iris told ANN, she last saw George Samuel last Saturday when he dropped her off at her daughter’s residence in Gomea.

She said that he did not disclose to her any plans for the rest of the weekend.

And although they lived at separate locations, Iris said that it was the norm for George Samuel to pass by and ‘hang out’ for a while.

So, she became concerned when he did not show up to her house last Monday, and Tuesday morning.

She said that she thought he was tired and had opted to rest, however she grew more concerned as time passed and he never showed.

“After I did not see him, I called his phone and he was not answering,” Iris Samuel said.

She said that she walked up to where he lived, but did not see him.

Iris said that she returned home thinking that he had gone to his lands, or lime with some friends.

After some time, Iris said that she went back to the house where George Samuel lived and searched around – this time, she said that she met the couple’s 19-year-old son in the yard.

Upon looking around, Iris said that she met George’s cutlass and water boots and the keys to his vehicle suggesting that he never went to the lands as she initially thought.

She said she left after very little exchange with her son.

Iris later explained that she and her 19-year-old son had not had a good relationship after she was forced to call the police following some behavioral problems.

Never the less, she questioned him as to who changed the curtains to the house, and he responded “daddy.”

But Iris said that she knew that George would not have done such a thing, so went back home.

More time would have passed at this point, and Iris said that she went to a nearby shop and asked if they had seen George, ‘Coban’ as he was referred to, but she got the same response that no one had seen the man.

“I said, this is fishy because nobody saw him,” Iris Samuel said.

It was at this point that she then decided to check where he tied his animal.

She went back to the house where she said the outside toilet was checked, nothing out of the ordinary was discovered.

Then a suggestion was made to check a path at the back of George’s house, and as they made their way, she noticed an area trampled down, upon further investigation, some blood was discovered and then Iris said that she got the stench of decay.

That was when an area of fresh dirt was discovered with some bush spread over it.

At that point, the police were summoned.

“I feel sad because I did not expect dat,” she said.

It has been reported that both sons  was taken in for questioning, however investigations are on-going.
