    CDC Press release – Six Vincentian artiste made submission for ISM in Trinidad

    The Carnival Development Corporation embarked on a mission to facilitate the registration of Vincy Soca artistes for the International Soca Monarch competition in Trinidad.
    The artistes who placed in the top three positions from the 2019 Ragga Soca and Soca competitions were asked to fill out the entry forms and to make submissions to the Carnival Development Corporation’s office. Development and Marketing Officer of the CDC, Mr. Esworth “Ezzie” Roberts traveled to Trinidad to submit the entries at the office of the International Soca Monarch on Thursday 23


    The artistes who placed in the top three positions from the 2019 Ragga Soca and Soca competitions were asked to fill out the entry forms and to make submissions to the Carnival Development Corporation’s office.     rd January ahead of the Friday 24th deadline.

    The list of artistes and songs submitted were as follows:

    Derron ‘Magikal’Rouse – Bloody Hell Crazy

    Hance ‘Hance’ John – Uptown Party

    Villroy ‘Tuffa’ Jack – Liver

    Chewalee Johnson – Rum Cheaper Than Woman

    An entry was also submitted for Sita the Lyrical Diva who had requested assistance from the CDC as her song, “Matey” was getting positive reviews in Trinidad & Tobago.

    Shertz ‘Problem Child’ James who is currently in Trinidad submitted an entry independently.

    On Saturday 25th January the list of the semi-finalists for both categories were released. Hance John was selected in the Groovy category and Problem Child was selected in the Power category.

    Esworth “Ezzie” Roberts contacted both artistes’ behalf of the Carnival Development Corporation, to express congratulations and to offer support going forward.

    The semi-finals would be held on Saturday 2nd February at Arima Valedrome from 3.00 pm.
