St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded its fifteenth (15) positive COVID -19 case. This new case, is closely associated with numbers #13 and #14 reported on Tuesday, April 21 and Thursday 23, by the Caribbean Public Health Agency – CARPHA. Chief Medical Officer Dr Simone Keizer Beache, says investigations have determined that the last three reported cases of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines form part of a cluster, due to import related local spread. There are now eight (8) persons who have recovered from COVID-19, having each received the two negative COVID-19 tests required to be medically cleared.

The new results for the latest three (3) recovered patients were received in the past twenty-four hours.

There are now seven (7) active cases of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Dr. Keizer Beache continues to stress the importance of maintaining the public health measures currently in place which include hand hygiene, cough etiquette, physical distancing of at least 3-6 feet in public spaces and strict adherence to quarantine and isolation.

Additionally, the correct and safe use of face coverings when physical distancing is not possible is recommended.
These measures, Dr Keizer Beache maintains are vital, if we are to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
