The number of Coronavirus deaths in the country jumped to 92 this afternoon as the Ministry of Health reported on the death of a 38-year-old Region Four man.

Another death was recorded early this morning in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit and five other deaths were recorded this past weekend.

Since the start of October, the Ministry of Health has recorded 10 COVID-19 deaths. September was the deadliest month for the pandemic so far with 41 deaths being recorded in 30 days.

The death toll has been climbing steadily since August but the Ministry of Health has been providing no details on those who have passed other than their age, gender and the region where they lived.

But the Health Minister has been reporting that the majority of deaths are persons with underlying conditions.

He has revealed that patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit with the same Remdesevir drug that is being used globally.

The Ministry of Health continues to encourage citizens to wear a mask once out in the public and follow all the other health guidelines.
