The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture joins its Caribbean counterparts to celebrate Tourism Month 2020. Through a weekly Digital Staycation Campaign, this year’s celebration will focus on the promotion of several Tourism Approved services.

In addition, there would be one (1) week of activities from 23rd to 30th November, 2020 under the theme “Tourism is Everyone’s’ Business; Live it, Love it and Embrace it”.
The weekly Digital Staycation Campaign provides the opportunity for several Tourism Approved services to increase their reach in the local market, as Vincentians are encouraged to experience and rediscover our beautiful 32 Islands and Cays.

There will be weekly uploads and prizes posted on the Ministry’s social media platforms www.facebook.com/discoversvg and www.facebook.com/MinistryofTourismSVG. The Ministry recognizes the efforts made by the many tourism service providers and will continue to offer support as we work together to build resilience within the industry.

The week will commence with a Thanksgiving Service and Meet and Greet on the 23rd November, 2020 at the Kingstown Methodist Church, where the Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture will make his inauguration speech to various stakeholders within the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Also, there will be a series of Human Resource Development Training geared towards Restaurant, Hotels Taxi Drivers and Tour Operators in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The trainings will focus on Digital Marketing; Gaining a competitive advantage from your social media presence, and is slated for the 24th, 26th and 30th November, 2020. Interested persons are invited to register at the Ministry of Tourism on the 2nd floor NIS Building, Kingstown.
Additionally, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority will complete the final round of Caribbean Development Bank Restaurant Service Training from the 25th to 27th November, 2020.

Furthermore, the Ministry will collaborate with the SVGTA, NPRBA, NEMO, CWSA and the Ministry of Health for a ‘Clean-Up’ of the Fitz Hughes Beach, on the 26th November, 2020.

Finally, in an effort to continue to expose and enthrall stakeholders about the many available product offerings within the destination, there would be a Hike and Scavenger Hunt hosted in collaboration with the Barrouallie Heritage and Tourism Ogranisation and the Department of Forestry.

This activity is expected to take place on the Zion Hill Trail, Barroullie on 27th November, 2020.

Over the years, the Caribbean has proven to be resilient because of the national pride and support demonstrated by our regional and international counterparts. As the Caribbean celebrates Tourism Month, the Ministry will continue to empower and engage stakeholders about the importance and benefit of this robust and lucrative Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
