    Police Investigating The Death Of 71 Year Old Irwin Patterson.

    Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Irwin Patterson, 71 years old, watchman of Layou that occurred on 24.11.2020.


    According to investigations, Patterson was employed as a watchman at a quarry in the Mt. Wynne area. About 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Patterson’s co-worker discovered him faced down gasping for breath and summoned the police from the Barrouallie Police Station. As a result, the officers visited the scene. Patterson was then rushed to the Buccament Bay Poly-clinic to seek medical attention and later transferred to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.


    A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the body of the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death.
    Persons with information pertaining to this investigation are asked to contact the Assistant Commissioner in charge of Crimes at 1784-456-1339 or the officer in charge of South Western Division at 1784-458-7238 or any Police Station or Police Officer you are comfortable with. All information will be treated confidentially.
    Patterson death marks the 27th homicide for the year 2020. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
