The Health Services Subcommittee today confirmed another COVID-19 case related to the recent cluster of local spread, bringing the total to six (6).

Intensive contact tracing has identified in excess of one hundred and twenty-five (125) contacts of these positive cases.

Aggressive testing and quarantining by the COVID-19 Taskforce team are ongoing aimed at the containment of the local spread of COVID19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The second new case is an adult who arrived from the UK on December 27th, tested negative on arrival but tested positive on December 29th.

All positive cases are isolated until cleared by two negative tests.

The Health Services Subcommittee, in support of the public health interventions of the COVID-19 Taskforce team, has recommended that all mass gatherings be
    postponed.

Where postponement of these gatherings is not possible, all of the
measures of the protocol including documentation of patrons, physical distancing, mask use and hygiene measures must be enforced.

The Health Services Subcommittee appreciates the anticipated compliance of the public with the requirement to use facial coverings when in all government facilities.

This measure will serve to reduce the likelihood of further spread of the COVID-19.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded one hundred and twenty-one (121)cases of COVID-19. Ninety-eight (98) have recovered and twenty-three (23) are
    active
