Orin Ashton, a current serving member in the Royal British Navy has launched a YouTube Channel in hopes of guiding other persons to being successful with their applications.

The former Constable of the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police force who served a period of 6years locally said, “It has always been my dream of seeing the world while contributing back to humanity as a whole and I was blessed enough to be given the opportunity to do so.” During his application process he noted how shocked he was at the insufficiency of information available online and as a result has launched a YouTube Channel to keep others informed of the rigors and procedures needed to be successful in all phases of their application. Ashton carrying the title of Able sea man Class 1 reiterated the lack of crucial information online as the process for applying as a Commonwealth citizen is vastly different than that of a British citizen.

“I was quite surprised at how little knowledge was afforded locally to persons considering the high volume of persons within the British Armed Forces from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” he said.

“After completing basic training I had so many persons asking for the same information about the process that I decided the best way to help everyone was to create these videos.”

During the Covid19 pandemic there has been a pause on recruitment from commonwealth countries due to travel restrictions but as things begin to get more under control there will be an uptick in the demand for foreign nationals.

“I know that there are many persons who are as eager to find gainful employment and a career that is fulfilling but are hesitant because of the “shroud” placed over available information so if I could help as many people as I can I’ll feel pleased knowing I left things a little better than I met them”

Persons are strongly recommended to subscribe to the channel to receive immediate notification of all pertinent matters regarding Recruitment, Training and general military lifestyle.
