    TROPICAL STORM ELSA STRENGTHENS WHILE QUICKLY APPROACHING THE Region

    • Presently located about 260 miles ESE of Barbados / about 370 miles ESE of StVincent
    • Moving WNW @ 26 mph
    • Maximum sustained winds near 50 mph (Higher gusts)
    • MC Pressure 1003 mb
    • Centre expected to pass over open waters closest to the SOUTH of Barbados about 8am tomorrow then over StVincent, about 11am

    WINDS:

    • Up to 60 mph – Parts of Barbados StVincent
    • Up to 40 mph – Parts of The Grenadines StLucia Martinique

    Winds could steadily increase to reach Tropical Storm Force over parts of

    • Barbados @ about 6am, St Vincent and the Grenadines about 9am, St Lucia and Martinique about 8 – 10am)

    Further around the CAI (apart from Trinidad and ABC Islands) winds between 20 – 38 mph (With Higher gusts) are possible

    RAINFALL:

    • Totals of 3 to 6 inches with maximum totals of 10 inches on Friday across the Windward and southern Leeward Islands, including Barbados

    • 1 and 2 inches over and or around parts of #Dominica Martinique StLucia Grenada #Tobago #Trinidad
    • 0.5 and 1 inch over and or around parts of Guadeloupe
    • 0.1 and 0.5 inches over and or around the rest of the CAI

    • *Barbados, Leeward Islands, *#WindwardIslands Tobago Trinidad

    Convection ahead of Elsa is already affecting some islands and conditions will continue to deteriorate overnight into tomorrow as Elsa approaches then crosses the area.
