“Personal Branding – More than just a popular catchphrase, an understanding of your personal brand is an invitation to yourself to look for what is situated beneath the surface, reveal your strongest qualities and translate this information into the congruent and consistent message, “this is me!” says Trinidadian artist, non-profit founder, author and personal branding coach, Kevon Gareth Foderingham.

Hot off the heels of the July 2022 publication of his first book and personal branding guide – THINGS I LEARNED IN MY THIRTIES: Motivational Musings for Creative Millennials, Foderingham is partnering with Kenrife Matthias, founder of Kencept Solutions to offer a free Personal Brand Visioning Workshop for Creatives in St Vincent, dubbed the I AM Experiment. The workshop itself is part of the first ever I AM Conference which takes place at the Believers Club, Diamond, St Vincent from September 16-18, 2022 hosted by Kencept Solutions and Foderingham’s, East Yard Enterprises.

The workshop which runs for one and a half days will see participants working with Foderingham to explore themes like: Finding your personal brand essence; Embracing your proclivity, passion and purpose; Channeling YOU in your work; and Creating your personal brand strategy/marketing plan.

The workshop is just one of the many offerings of the three day I AM Conference which will include a cross cultural art exhibition entitled ‘Where Horse Reach,’ featuring work from St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago; a creative sector panel discussion; an open mic and special book reading, an artisan market and more.

“Most traditional businesses and especially those within the creative industry have been finding it difficult or rather missing out on connecting with potential customers and niche markets on social media platforms due to not being tech-savvy or simply because they don’t have the time, expertise or personnel. Additionally, the surfacing of COVID-19 and the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano has abruptly affected our industries which is inadvertently crippling our economy and displacing our livelihoods.

The I AM Experiment seeks to offer creative entrepreneurs, professionals, or small businesses a renewed sense of purpose and help them to rethink and revamp how they conduct business, modify eco-system and facilitate how they offer services whilst influencing awareness and revenue by starting with how they revamp and rethink how they present themselves.

The landscape has changed drastically and will require innovation and creativity.” — Kenrife Matthias, Founder of Kencept Solutions.

Foderingham concludes by saying that his mission as an art for social change advocate is to use all his skills to support the arts and its power to drive social action – with particular emphasis on the Caribbean and his intention for the conference and workshop is to use marketing strategy, language, writing, oral declarations and art exercises, leaving the participant with an arsenal of tools to tap into and amplify their personal brands and creativity enterprises.

    About Kevon Gareth Foderingham:

With almost 20 years of local, regional and international work experience in the hospitality, education, creative and non-profit sectors – over the years Mr. Foderingham has been involved with and led several projects in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean that have provided a foundation for arts and culture practitioners. One of these foundations made manifest into physical form is EAST YARD – East Trinidad’s foremost arts hub, founded in 2017. Passionate about the arts, with a belief in the power of education and mission to connect people; Kevon launched a global platform created to support cultural diplomacy, build the capacity of cultural practitioners and promote social change through the arts, aptly dubbed For Common Good and is also an alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the US State Department’s most prestigious exchange program – where his exchange focused on promoting social change through the arts. Over the past seven years he has also designed his own line of men’s fashion and jewelry. Using his professional experience in marketing and communications and life coach training in his personal brand visioning practice – he helps creative practitioners find and amplify the essence of their personal brands. It is this brand visioning work in particular that has been informing his socially engaged art practice dubbed ‘The I AM Experiment,’ and his first book, THINGS I LEARNED IN MY THIRTIES: Motivational Musings for Creative Millennials, released in July 2022.
