As Sandals International plans to open a Beaches Resort by the end of this year in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, it continues to recruit Vincentians for training.

On January 11, 2022, thirty-eight (38) Vincentians who were recruited by Sandals International for training, left the State.

The group will head to a Sandals branch in the Turks and Caicos Islands where they will be trained according to Sandals International’s standards while they work.

The recruitments by Sandals International are part of an agreement between the global hotel giant’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Adam Stewart and the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to hire 500 Vincentians in advance of the scheduled opening of Buccament resort.

In September 2022, a group of 55 Vincentians were selected for training by Sandals International at their resorts in the Turks and Caicos Islands and St. Lucia.

In September 2022, Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves said Sandals had already met about half of its commitment of hiring 500 Vincentians.

Today (January 11, 2022), the latest group to be selected for training was briefed again at the Argyle International Airport by Tourism Minister Carlos James on their roles and responsibilities and what is expected of them when they begin working in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

He also reminded the group that they are now “ambassadors” for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This group will return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to work at Sandals International’s Beaches Resort at Buccament when the resort becomes operational.

    Selection

Last year, senior representatives of Sandals International arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to conduct interviews with persons desirous of working for the company and receiving training.
