In a move to stay connected in the digital world, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Public
Service Union (PSU) has launched its website psusvg.com
General Secretary Shelly-Ann Alexander Ross said the website which has been long in the
making will give online users the opportunity to gain access to information.
Alexander-Ross highlighted that members, as well as potential members no longer have to visit
their office which is located at Mc Kies Hill, but they can now log on and access information and
documents about the PSU.
With over 2000 registered members, the new website allows persons to apply for membership,
cite complains or grievances and be in the know of the latest events. Other benefits to be
derived include legal aid and advice, medical assistance, training, scholarships to the children of
financial members and cash loans.
The PSU General Secretary revealed that the trade union which represents government
employees is celebrating its 80 th anniversary on 27 th February under the theme, “Navigating the
way forward – 80 years and counting.”
The day will officially be commemorated later in the evening with a presidential award
ceremony and cocktail at the Methodist Church Hall.
Other upcoming activities include Members/Pensioners Fun Day on 4 th March at Mount Wynne
and Boat Ride to Bequia 14 th March.
The trade union kicked off their activities with their attendance on 5 th February at the
Kingstown Baptist Church.
On Monday 13 th February the “PSU Speaks” programme will be aired on Nice Radio from 8pm
where persons can also call in and share. On Tuesday 14 th February, the PSU will host a media
briefing at the office from 9am.
The PSU will continue to make visits to various government departments as a means of
reaching out during the 80 th anniversary celebrations.
