Eight schools received soccer and volleyball equipment from the Dr. Nicholette Spring Charitable Foundation in collaboration with Unique Touch Soccer Academy, USA. The Park Hill Government, South Rivers Methodist, Colonarie Primary, Pamelus Burke Primary, Georgetown Primary and Secondary, Langley Park Government and the Dickson Methodist School all received small goals, cones, and pumps to assist them in their preparation for national competitions.
Dr. Spring realized the need for sporting equipment in some primary schools and initiated the deal to get the equipment to the schools. A well-rounded education includes sports and other extra-curricular activities.
Youth soccer coach, Renrick Alexander reiterated the need for sporting activities to develop the youth’s minds, bodies and souls. He emphasized the need for sports because it helps to stimulate the minds of the youths.
At the end of each presentation, Dr. Spring reinforced the Foundation’s philosophy and asked the students to repeat the words:
“Be Positive! Be Happy! Look for the good in people!”
And explained to them how these words can work to instill positive vibes in their daily lives.
The principals and students thanked the organizations for their donations and pledge of support towards sports development in the schools. The donations were timely and will be useful to the schools now and in the future.
