Ministers of Fisheries in the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) met here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Beachcombers Hotel on Thursday, July 13 and Friday, July 14 2023, for the 22nd Eastern Caribbean Ministerial Meeting on Fisheries and Sustainable Use of Living Marine Resources.

Minister with responsibility for Fisheries Saboto Caesar said he is happy the OECS Ministers of Fisheries were here to discuss the critical topic of the Blue Economy.
Minister Caesar thanked the government and people of Japan for twenty five years of cooperation, which he said stakeholders have benefitted from significantly.

Minister Caesar said over the past five years, SVG has worked very closely with the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) and he was very happy to see the representative from that entity at the meeting.

Caesar noted that going forward they are engendering a framework for enhanced cooperation between the government and people of Japan and the governments in the OECS.
