A 52-year-old resident of Freeland, Mesopotamia Kendol Homer was shot in his left leg on Saturday 17th February 2024 outside of Roy’s Pharmacy in Arnos Vale.

According to a Police report , the victim and an employee of the pharmacy were involved in an altercation when he was shot. The victim was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for medical treatment where he is currently warded in stable condition.

The sister of Kendol told ANN that the family is at a loss as to what transpired. “All we know is what we read and people  speculation, ” the sister said

The sister also said she knew Kendol for getting into fights but of late he has been working and staying out of trouble.

The sister questioned why the name of the employee who her brother allegedly got in an altercation was not mentioned .

My brother and I spoke with him on Wednesday evening after work, he was telling us of this guy in our area who died, and said he was going to town on Saturday to stock up on his foodstuffs and buy a shoe to go to his funeral, so I don’t understand this talk of he went there to steal, the sister said.

I am so confused about this whole thing after the conversation we’ve been having with him saying he staying away from people.

We get on his case all the time when he get in anything with anyone, we don’t condone wrongdoing. That’s why we want to know exactly what happened.

We didn’t even know this happened until I saw someone posted on Facebook and then my cousin called, the sister said.

When asked if the family was contacted by the Police, the sister said “NO”. She went on to say that “the Police don’t do any investigation before they send out a report because my brother is not 49 -years -old and he is not from Richland Park as the report stated”. “It’s heartbreaking to hear my brother got 8 bullets with no explanation”. “I just thank god he is still alive, God ain’t done with him yet”.

The Police report states that  Calliaqua district responded to the incident and has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The report also states that the alleged shooter is cooperating with the investigation, but never mentioned a name or what led to the shooting.

Police are asking anyone with information who can assist with this investigation to contact the Calliaqua Police Station at 1-784-458-4200, Police Emergency at 911/999, or any police station or police officer you are comfortable speaking with. Any information received will be treated confidentially.
