    Gender Affairs Division Commemorates International Women's Day

    The Gender Affairs Division, operating under the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social
    Development, Family, Gender Affairs, Youth, Housing and Informal Human Settlement has
    launched a week of training activities in recognition of International Women's Day, March 4 th to
    7 th , 2024.

    The theme for this year's commemoration is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”

    The training sessions aim to facilitate discussions on effective strategies for promoting women's
    advancement and fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. By providing a platform for
    dialogue and collaboration, the activities are geared to encourage networking among participants
    and establish a robust community of support for women's empowerment.

    As part of the commemoration of International Women’s Day, an opening ceremony was held on
    March 4 th , 2024, at Frenches House, Kingstown.

    The ceremony was occasioned with empowering messages, and a commitment to advancing the
    cause of women's rights and equality. The week of training would revolve around the importance
    of “Investing in Women to Accelerate Progress”.

    The week-long program will include insightful discussions, workshops, and presentations
    focusing on various aspects of women's empowerment, from professional development to
    fostering an environment of inclusivity.
