Money makes the world go around, this is the reason why we work every day and more than half our life, to provide us with our basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. Money can be defined as anything you use to trade for goods and services and to store value. It can be any item (physical or virtual) as long as people agree that the item has value. Every human being need money, however being obsessed with money can be very “problematic”.
The obsession of money can make people do all manner of evil things to each other, for example, in some relationships and marriages, we would have good spouses who work hard and honest and give us everything we need, but because of “greed”, we would cheat on these good people for money. In society, there are some people who are in high paying jobs and are getting themselves involved in the drug trade, which is contributing to the high crime rates, the more they get is the more they want. Some of these people would also go to the extreme to steal from their workplace. Thief men would go from house to house, breaking in people house, depriving them of what they would have worked hard for. They would also thief from the hard working farmers, stealing their crops and animals and depriving them of their livelihood. Nations are fighting against each other for oil money. According to a BBC news article published on December 14th 2015, the article states that the Islamic state group is extending its territory inside Libya, aiming to gain access to the country oil wells. (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-35093777) .There are also some disputes going on between Guyana and Venezuela over the Essequibo region for oil.
Politicians across the globe have also been found guilty of putting their hand in the cookie jar. According to a BBC news article, the article states that Japan is going through a once in a generation political crisis, analysts say, as the government fights to clean up its image in the face of a corruption scandal. The article further states that media reports have emerged accusing LDP politicians of pocketing excess funds received at fund raisers. (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-67783043) . 1 Timothy 6:10 in the bible states that for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
